Domani è il giorno dei sport a scuola! Mi piace molto il giorno perché si va fuori per tutto il giorno e non si sede ma in un'aula! Non mi piace molto tutta la competizione, ma è un giorno molto divertente. I miei giochi preferiti sono di softball, basketball, e tiro alla fune. Questo è la mia mise nuova per il giorno dei sport.
Tomorrow is Field Day at school! I love Field Day because everyone goes outside all day and we never have to sit in a classroom! I don't really like all the competition, but it's a really fun day. My favorite games are softball, basketball, and tug-of-war. This is my new outfit for Field Day.
Oggi è la giornata per la Terra! A scuola, c'era un'assemblea, e abbiamo imparato modi in cui possiamo aiutare a proteggere l'ambiente. Abbiamo imparato del riciclaggio e altre cose che possiamo fare. Poi siamo andati fuori, e ogni classe ha piantato il suo albero nel cortile. Erano bellissimi insieme! In celebrazione della giornata per la Terra, ho scelto qualche foto di me stesso giocando fuori nella natura.
Today is Earth Day! At school, there was an assembly, and we learned ways in which we can help to protect the environment. We learned all about recycling and other things that we can do. Then we went outside, and every class planted its own tree in the courtyard. They looked beautiful all together! In celebration of Earth Day, I picked a few photos of myself playing outside in nature.
Piovava tutto il pomeriggio. Avevo voluto giocare fuori dopo la scuola, ma invece, ho letto un po', ho fatto il mio compito, e poi ho guardato dalla finestra alla pioggia. Nonostante il mio disappunto che non potevo andare fuori, provavo a ricordare che gli acquazzoni d'aprile portanto i fiori di maggio! Con speranza, si vedrà molti fiori fra poco. Farà 70 gradi e più questo week-end...non posso aspettare per la primavera!
It rained all afternoon. I had wanted to play outside after school, but instead, I read a bit, did my homework, and then I looked out the window at the rain. Despite my disappointment that I couldn't go outside, I tried to remember that April showers bring May flowers! Hopefully we'll see lots of those flowers soon. It's supposed to be in the 70's this weekend...I can't wait for spring!
In italiano c'è un detto, "Natale con i tuoi, Pasqua con chi vuoi." Ma io penso che questo sia un po' sciocco, perché mi piace celebrare la Pasqua con la mia famiglia! Abbiamo le tradizione e il cibo per la Pasqua che mi piacciono molto, come il pane dolce con un'uova nel centro. Facciamo anche una torta salata, un po' come un keish, con le uova, il formaggio, e il prosciutto. Di solito, mangiamo l'agnello arrostito per il pasto, e finiamo con La Pastiera Napoletana, una pizza di grano. È molto dolce e cremosa, fatto con la ricotta. E mi piacciono anche la caramella di Pasqua, come Peeps e le caramelle alla frutta!
In Italian there's a saying, "Natale con i tuoi, Pasqua con chi vuoi," which means "Christmas with your family, Easter with whomever you want." But I think this is a little silly, because I like to celebrate Easter with my family! We have traditions and food for Easter that I love, like Easter bread, which is sweet bread with a hard-boiled egg in the center. We also make a salty pie, a little like quiche, with eggs, cheese, and ham. Usually we eat roasted lamb for the main meal, and we finish with La Pastiera Napoletana, which is also called grain pie. It's a dessert pie that's very sweet and creamy, made with ricotta cheese. And I also love Easter candy, like Peeps and jelly beans!

Ieri sera, sono andata a un seder per la Pasqua ebraica. Oggi è il primo giorno delle vacanze di primavera, così sono andata dalla mia amica Elizabeth per una festa a pigiama! Io sono solo un quarto ebrea, perché il mio nonno è ebreo, ma Elizabeth è ebrea cento per cento, e da lei, si celebre la Pasqua con un seder. Al tavolo del seder, Abbiamo raccontato la storia della Pasqua, abbiamo cantato le canzoni, e poi abbiamo mangiato il cibo delizioso. Mi piacciono di più le polpette di matzoh in minestra, e il haroset, una pasta di frutta e noci (e cannella!) che si mangia con il matzoh.
Dopo il seder, Elizabeth ed io abbiamo guardato il film "Il Principe d'Egitto," che racconta la storia della Pasqua. Ha fatto molto paura in qualche parte, specialmente quelle con le dieci peste, ma era un buon film. Questa canzone è bellissima, è la mia parte preferita nel film. È il bambino Mosè nel cestino - è carinissimo, no?
Last night, I went to a seder for Passover. Today is the first day of spring break, so I went to my friend Elizabeth's house for a sleepover! I'm only one-quarter Jewish, because my grandpa is Jewish, but Elizabeth is 100% Jewish, and at her house they celebrate Passover with a seder. At the seder table, we told the Passover story, sang songs, and then we ate delicious food. I liked the matzoh ball soup and the haroset, a topping made with fruit, nuts and cinnamon that you eat with matzoh, the best!
After the seder, Elizabeth and I watched the movie "The Prince of Egypt," which tells the Passover story. It was really scary in some parts, especially the parts with the ten plagues, but it was a good movie. This song is beautiful, it's my favorite part in the movie. It's baby Moses in the basket - isn't he cute?
Sono diventata malissimo a scrivere sul mio blog! Ma provo ad essere meglio questa primavera, vi promesso.
Venerdì è stato il "opening day" per gli Yankees allo nuovo stadio al Bronx. Mi piace il baseball e i Yankees, e quattro anni fa sono andata a Yankee Stadium per il giorno delle Ragazze Americane. Non posso credere che è stato tanto tempo fa! Mi piaceva moltissimo essere a una partita viva. È così diversa dalle partite sul TV! Ho ricevuto un'uniforme degli Yankees nella mia misura. Questi sono alcuni foto di quella partita. Spero che io possa andare a una partita nello nuovo stadio un giorno!

Friday was Opening Day for the Yankees at the new stadium in the Bronx. I like baseball and the Yankees, and four years ago I went to Yankee Stadium for American Girl Day. I can't believe it was so long ago! I really liked being at a live game. It was so different from games on TV! I even got a Yankees uniform in my size. These are some photos from that game. I hope I can go to a game in the new stadium some day!
